Adding Vibrancy through Our People: Nationally Ranked

Washington University in St. Louis—consistently ranked among the 20 best universities in the nation—is ranked 12th for undergraduate programs among 262 national universities, according to U.S. News & World Report's 2008 edition of America's Best Colleges guide. Being nationally ranked has two advantages: 1) It makes Washington University more attractive to students and faculty, and 2) it brings national attention to the University and to St. Louis. The University's graduate and professional programs also rank extremely well in U.S. News' 2008 rankings of Best Graduate Schools.

U.S. News placed Washington 18th in its "best values" category and 17th in graduation and retention.

Although rankings may not be the best indicator of Washington University's underlying quality, they make the University and St. Louis attractive to people throughout the country.
